Creating Opportunities for Integrated Urban Water Management
全球環境科學高峰論壇系列講座（GloBal Environmental Science SummiT seminar series, BEST），由哈爾濱工業大學環境學院組織、多家單位聯合協辦，意在打造全球范圍內的精品高端環境論壇，為研究學者、企業家、環境從業者以及學生等提供廣泛的國際交流機會。BEST論壇涉及主題包括：氣候變化與可持續發展、環境與生態健康、減污降碳協同增效、水資源及水處理技術、土壤修復、環境基準與環境安全、環境微生物學、人工智能與大數據等。
BEST將以ZOOM或VooV/騰訊會議結合B站直播、環境人微信視頻號直播、中國給水排水平臺直播、蔻享學術直播以及邃瞳科學云直播的方式每月進行一次講座。
應 BEST的邀請，BEST第十六講將由澳大利亞技術科學與工程院院士袁志國教授進行。

Creating Opportunities for Integrated Urban Water Management
【報告摘要】
Urban water management is facing unprecedented challenges caused by climate change, continued population growth and urbanization, ever-increasing customer expectations, aging infrastructure, net-zero operational goals, and a strong paradigm shift to circular economy. Integrated urban water management (IUWM), a well-accepted concept for managing urban water, is an integral part of the solution. An urban water system comprises the water supply sources, water treatment plants, water distribution networks, wastewater and stormwater collection and conveyance networks, wastewater treatment and resource recovery plants, and the ecosystems impacted by the wastewater (treated or untreated) or stormwater discharge. IUWM considers the interactions among the multiple components in an urban water system and the connections among multiple management goals, thus enabling system-wide gains via a whole-of-system approach.
氣候變化、人口持續增長和城市化進程加快、不斷提高的期望值、基礎設施老化、凈零運營目標以及向循環經濟轉變的要求，使城市水管理面臨著前所未有的挑戰。綜合城市水管理（IUWM）是公認概念，是解決的城市水管理的重要一環。城市綜合水系統結構包括供水源、污水處理廠、配水網絡、廢水和雨水收集、輸送網絡、廢水處理和資源回收，以及受廢水（處理或未處理）或雨水排放影響的生態系統。IUWM考慮了城市水系統中多個組成部分之間的相互作用以及多個管理目標之間的聯系，從而通過全系統管理方法實現全系統的收益。
【主講人簡介】
Professor Zhiguo Yuan AM is Chair Professor of Urban Water Management and a Global STEM Professor at School of Energy and Environment, City University of Hong Kong. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering and a Distinguished Fellow of the International Water Association. He is Editor-in-Chief of Water Research X. He is a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher.
His research focuses on development of innovative solutions for urban water management through effective integration of fundamental science and engineering. His research areas include corrosion and odour management in sewers, greenhouse gas emissions from wastewater systems, resource recovery from wastewater, integrated urban water management, and digital water.
He published over 550 fully refereed journal papers including papers in Nature and Science, which attracted nearly 50,000 citations, giving an h-index of 120 (GS, Nov 2023). He is the founder of three biotechnology businesses. His research achievements and leadership have been recognized through major national and international awards including the 2015 ATSE Clunies Ross Award and the 2014 International Water Association (IWA) Global Project Innovation Award.
袁志國，香港城市大學能源與環境學院教授，澳大利亞技術科學與工程院院士，國際水協杰出會士，Water Research X期刊主編，科睿唯安高被引學者。
研究重點是通過基礎科學和工程的有效集成，為城市水管理開發創新解決方案。研究領域包括地下管網的腐蝕和氣味管理、污水處理系統溫室氣體排放、廢水資源回收、城市水系統綜合管理和數字水務。
袁志國院士已在Nature、Science等期刊上發表文章550多篇，累計被引頻次達到5萬余次，H因子120（google scholar數據，2023年11月）。袁志國院士是三家生物技術企業的創始人。研究成果曾獲得2015年澳大利亞技術科學與工程院 Clunies Ross 獎和 2014 年國際水協會 （IWA） 全球項目創新獎等多個獎項。
